README (not visible to students)
This question demonstrates the ability of <pl-image-capture> to let students submit captured images from their webcam or external device, such as a phone or tablet. The question also demonstrates what <pl-image-capture> looks like when mobile capture is disabled.
The first part of the question requests the derivative f'(x) of a function f(x), along with work shown step-by-step and submitted through pl-image-capture. The second part of the question requests a sketch of the region bounded by two curves.
Correct answer
If you plan to use AI grading, do not wrap pl-image-capture within another PrairieLearn element, such as pl-card.
Consider the function $f(x) = arcsin(2x) + cos(4x^3-5x)+e^{x^3}$. Find $f'(x)$ and show your work.
If necessary, mobile capture can be disabled.
Sketch the bounded region enclosed by the curves $y=-x^2+3$ and $y=2x^2$.
If allow-blank is set, students can submit without capturing an image. This is useful when providing multiple image capture elements where not all are required.
Use this space for additional work (optional).
